FAQ

1. Where is King's Academy located?
University of California, San Diego (UC San Diego) near La Jolla, CA

2. When is registration deadline?
King's Academy operates on a first-come, first-serve basis.

3. What do I bring for the overnight camp?
Each camper must bring the following items to camp: Towels, washcloths, soap and other personal hygiene items. In addition, bring twin size bedsheets, blankets, sweat suit, stamps, and alarm clock. It is recommended that each camper bring a new change of clothes for each day of camp and that your clothes be marked with your name.

4. What do I bring if I'm a day camper?
All day campers will be required to bring all their basketball equipment with them each day of camp (first day of camp included). Footwear, towel, gym bag, water bottle, etc.

5. Can LeBron James appear at my engagement?
I am sorry to inform you that we are a separate entity from Mr. James' engagements and events; you would have to contact his agent.

6. Do you offer any other camps?
No, this is the only LeBron James camp that we offer.

7. As day campers, is it mandatory that they stay until 9:30pm every night, or is there an earlier time that they can be picked up?
If you desire to take your camper home earlier than 9:30pm, you will need to complete a release form. You will have to show your driver's license. We can only release the camper to the parent or guardian whose name is on the application.

8. Are we allowed to watch any of the sessions?
Parents, relatives and friends of those individuals enrolled at the King's Academy are welcome to observe the opening day orientation. Should you wish to observe the King's Academy activities during the remainder of the week,we have reserved the time block of 6:30 - 9:30pm. All other camp activities will be closed to the public. Please observe these times!

9. Does your camp need medical forms completed?
The only medical information that we needed was requested on the application.There is no additional medical information requested.

10. Do you ever grant scholarships to people who can't afford the tuition?
We are sorry to inform you that we do not offer individual scholarships, all scholarship spaces for the LJKA are provided to organizations (e.g.Independent Charity Groups, Local Boys and Girls Clubs, etc.) and they determine who attends through their organization.

11. I know that we missed the cancellation deadline, but we really need to cancel, can we apply this year's tuition to next year's camp?
We are sorry to inform you that the refund deadline has passed. We are no longer offering refunds without a medical notice. We do not allow individuals to apply tuition to the following year's camp if you miss your cancellation deadline for the 2010 camp.

12. Are there any restrictions with what gets signed?
No, you can only receive one autograph (per camper) of your choice. No competitor products (ex. Adidas or Reebok).

13. Does the tuition include the transportation to La Jolla?
The tuition does NOT include transportation to La Jolla, CA. The campers have to pay their own way to La Jolla. Transportation is available at no charge for campers traveling to and from the local San Diego International Airport, bus or train stations on the first and last day of each session. Those who are in need of our assistance can notify us by completing the transportation form that you will receive with your final information package.

14. Can my child bring a camera and cell phone?
It is not recommended to bring valuables such as watches, iPods, TVs, radios, video games, etc. The King's Academy will not be responsible for theft.

15. I assume the beds are twin beds for us to bring a sheet set?
Yes, the beds are twin beds.

16. Even though you guys provide dorms, would youth campers be allowed to stay in a hotel and still have a way to get there?
The LJKA does not offer transportation to day campers that are traveling to and from a hotel. The camp will not be responsible for campers who reside in a hotel.

17. What exactly do the kids learn at King's Academy?
The camp teaches the fundamentals of shooting, rebounding, dribbling, passing, defending and more.

18. How many kids sleep in a room?
Dorm rooms accommodate 2 campers per room.

19. Can my son/daughter play on another team with his/her friends?
We do not place campers on teams with their friends or family members. All teams are picked randomly.

20. Can we arrange tuition payments?
Tuition is due when we receive the application. No deposits accepted. Payment in full only.

21. I have received enrollment verification, but when will I get more information sent to me?
You will receive the final information package in mid-June.

22. What does the tuition pay for?
Tuition includes: meals, medical care, basketball instruction, camp t-shirt, color team photo with LeBron James, personal autograph (one autograph per camper),certificate of participation, player evaluation card and tons of fun!

23. Can you tell me what kind of meals you serve for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? And how much money parents send to camp with their camper ?
LeBron James King's Academy offers three nutritious meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Our cafeteria serves several food selections so that our campers can have a variety to choose from. The amount of money that you decide to send with your child depends on how much snacks or apparel items you want them to purchase while at camp.
